If Scarlett Johansson had her breakout role in
The Horse Whisperer Kate Bosworth had a small but pivotal part. It was
in fact her first feature film. She has a more substantial role in
Wonderland, a crime biopic told in the style of Rashômon or a story seen
from several different points of view. The title refers to the Wonderland
Murders that occurred in California in the 1980’s. The movie is a bit of a
jumble and it is unclear which version is actually the truth. In the middle of
all this is an incendiary performance by Lisa Kudrow in a role that is
light-years away from Phoebe. The material is a bit unsavory since it deals
with the porn industry. This would be good on a double bill with Boogie Nights.
