Camelot on the Avon

Once there was a place that was known for one brief shinning moment as... ''Camelot''

Yesterday, while waiting for the movie to start, I went into WaldenBooks and ended up at the comics rack. It's been quite a few years since I've read a comic and sorry to say, flipping through some of the ones on the rack didn't make me want to start up again. Everything just had the look of Image from 12 years ago. Todd Mcfarlane and Jae Lee had such an influence on the industry. Maybe I could get used to the new style. I just don't know.

Movie Journey Day 6

Talk about seeing two sides of an actor: in Ravenous (which I got to using David Arquette) Guy Pearse plays a cowardly military man, forced into canibalism by Robert Carlyle. And in LA Confidential he plays a straight-laced policeman. He was wonderful in both movies.

I finally saw Narnia today. I thought it was very good, very faithful to the book. For those of you who like to leave the theatre as soon as the credits start to roll, you might want to stay at least until after cast list. You'll be treated to an extra scene that caps off the movie nicely and comes straight from the book.

Movie Journey Day 5

War of the Worlds was linked to I am Sam by Dakota Fanning. Sean Penn gives a wonderful performance. I moved from I am Sam to Eight Legged Freaks with Eileen Ryan (Sean's mother). This is an extremely campy and fun B horror flick.

Movie Journey Day 4

On January 8th I watched Vanilla Sky using Laura Fraser as my link from A Knight's Tale. The thing is, I didn't see her. I don't know where she was. She's credited on IMDB as "the Future" what ever that means. I watched credit roll at the end of the movie and she is there.

The next day I watched War of the Worlds for the first time. I can't say I was very impressed.

Sorry, I know I'm being extra chatty tonight, but I am so glad that they moved Bones to tonight at 9pm. Where I can actually watch it.

Movie Journey Day 3

I used Tom Wilkinson to get from Eternal Sunshine to The Full Monty and Mark Addy to get from The Full Monty to A Knight's Tale. Sorry if have no insight about either of these movies. Not suprizingly I will say A Knight's Tale is one of my favorite movies.

Today has brought both sad and uncertain news. The sad news is that Christopher Penn died. He was in movies such as At Close Range with his brother Sean and Reservoir Dogs. The uncertain news is that the WB and UPN are morphing into one single network called the CW. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing.

Movie Journey Day 2

The problem with doing this several weeks after I watched the movies is that I forget what I thought on the day. Anyway, on January 4 I used Maggie Gyllenhaal to get from 'Donnie Darko' to 'Mona Lisa Smile' and then on January 5 I used Kirsten Dunst to get to 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'. I listened to the Director's commentary.

I've been meaning to do this all month. On January 1st I started a movie journey. I started with one movie that day and each day since I have watched a movie linked by an actor in the previous day's movie.

***

I started out with 'Identity' with John Cusack. The only thing I noticed this time around was that the little boy in the movie played Migilla in the first season of 'Everwood'.

I used Homes Osborne as my link to 'Donnie Darko The Director's Cut' I learned in the commentary that Drew Barrymore was asked not to smile except for one scene in the movie.
