Camelot on the Avon

Once there was a place that was known for one brief shinning moment as... ''Camelot''

Grand Canyon
was Jeremy Sisto’s first feature. In Suicide Kings he plays a medical student
who helps his friends kidnap a mobster in the hopes that he will help find the
sister of one of the group, who has also been kidnapped. Christopher Walken
plays the mobster and as usual, he steals the movie. It would be interesting to
see this as a stage play, since most of the movie takes place in one location.

I enjoyed

Grand Canyon

but it has a graphic operating room scene that is not for the squeamish. The
movie asks some interesting questions about modern life but sometimes goes
overboard in proving its theme.

Most purists call The Big Chill an
inferior substitute for The Return of the Secaucus Seven. Both
movies tell the story of several college friends getting together for a reunion.
I couldn’t tell you which movie is better, never having seen the latter movie.
What I can tell you is it really doesn’t matter how good the story in The Big
Chill
is because the soundtrack drives the movie. The soundtrack is a
collection of feel good hits from the 60’s and 70’s. The soundtrack makes you
feel good about the movie. What should be obvious by now is I enjoy the movie
because of the soundtrack. It also helps that Kevin Kline is one of my favorite
actors and he, Glenn Close and Mary Kay Place have the best storyline in the
movie.

My favorite scene in Jurassic Park is
the scene where the paleontologists see the dinosaurs for the first time and
they realize how close their theories are to what they are witnessing with their
own eyes: “They do travel in packs.” Great scene, great movie.
